Call before you drive over so we can have a room ready.
After hours? Call the same number and stay on the line until the voicemail starts. It gives you the options to reach our on-call doctor, who can send prescriptions.

If you’re in pain right now, call. You’ll reach our front desk in Puyallup, not a call center, and we’ll tell you how soon we can see you before you hang up. We hold time open each day for emergencies, so most people in real pain are seen the same day they call.
Is This an Emergency? Check This First
Most dental pain is urgent without being dangerous. The difference usually comes down to whether waiting makes it worse. Use this to sort yourself in about 10 seconds.
Go to the ER, not to us
Call 911 or head to the nearest emergency room if you have swelling that’s spreading toward your eye or down your neck, trouble breathing or swallowing, a jaw injury you can’t close, or bleeding that won’t slow after 15 minutes of steady pressure. Good Samaritan Hospital is about 6 minutes from our office.
Call us today
These usually need same-day treatment:
- A knocked-out adult tooth, which has its best chance if we see you within 30 to 60 minutes
- Severe or throbbing pain, especially pain that wakes you up
- Facial swelling, a gum boil, or a bad taste that keeps coming back, which often means infection
- A tooth cracked below the gumline, or one that’s loose after an injury
- A crown or filling that came out and left a sharp or sensitive tooth
This can wait
A small chip with no pain, mild sensitivity to cold, or a lost crown on a tooth that doesn’t hurt. Call anyway so we can get you booked before it turns into the first list.
Not sure which one you have? Our guide to dental emergencies walks through each type and what to do in the first hour. Or just call and describe it to us.
What Happens When You Call Us?
2Limited exam and X-ray
We ask what’s hurting, how long it’s been going on, and whether there’s swelling. That tells us how fast you need to be in a chair.
If it’s urgent, we find you a slot that day and tell you what to do in the meantime. Most emergency visits start with a limited exam and an X-ray of the problem area, so we can see what’s happening before we treat anything. From there the fix is usually a filling, a crown, a root canal, or an extraction.
Our goal for the first visit is to get you out of pain. Anything that can wait for a second appointment, waits.
Where Do You Go?
We’re at 18710 Meridian E, Suite 216, on the east side of Meridian in South Hill, a few minutes south of the Puyallup fairgrounds. Suite 216 is on the second floor.
Parking is free in the lot out front. If you’re coming from Graham or Spanaway, head north on Meridian. From Sunrise or downtown Puyallup, come south on Meridian and you’ll see us on your right.
More about the office, our services, and the team is on our Puyallup dental office page.
What If We're Closed?
Our Puyallup office is closed Monday, Saturday, and Sunday. If you’re in pain on one of those days, you have two options.
Call 253-846-5588 and stay on the line until the voicemail starts. The recording gives you the options to reach our on-call doctor, who can talk through what’s happening and send a prescription if you need one.
Or call one of our nearby offices that’s open. Our Sumner office is about 15 minutes away at 253-891-9100 and open Monday to Friday, and our Tacoma office is open Monday to Friday at 253-759-3366. You’re a btyDENTAL patient at any of them.
If the swelling or bleeding is in the ER list above, don’t wait for us to open.
What Will It Cost?
An emergency visit usually starts with a limited exam and a targeted X-ray, which is far less than a full workup. We’ll tell you what the treatment costs before we start it, not after.
We take most major insurance, and you can ask us to verify your benefits before treatment begins. See our insurance and financing options, or our dental membership plans if you don’t have coverage.
Never been in before? Our new patient information covers what to bring, though in an emergency you can sort the paperwork when you arrive.
Who Will You See?

FAQs
How fast can I be seen in Puyallup?
Call us and we’ll tell you before you hang up. We keep time open each day for emergencies, so most urgent cases are seen the same day when you call during our Tuesday to Friday hours.
Do you see emergency patients who've never been here before?
Yes. You don’t need to be an existing patient. Call 253-846-5588 and we’ll take it from there.
Can I just walk in?
You can, but calling first is faster. It lets us have a room and the right X-ray ready instead of starting the clock when you arrive.
My tooth got knocked out. What do I do on the way over?
Pick it up by the crown and not the root, rinse it gently with water if it’s dirty, and try to seat it back in the socket. If that isn’t possible, keep it in milk and get here quickly. A knocked-out tooth has its best chance inside 30 to 60 minutes.
What if I can't afford it right now?
Tell us when you call. We’ll verify your insurance, and we offer financing and membership options so cost doesn’t keep you in pain.
